I Don't See A Vein On This Patient!
Vein visualization is a tool for assisting you in locating a useful vein even in patients with Difficult Venous Access (DVA). However, in some situations, you will not find a vein even with the assistance of vein visualization.
This is an indication that the patient may not have readily accessible peripheral veins.
In this situation, you should consider escalating to more complex procedures like an ultrasound-guided IV in order to save the patient the pain and stress of failed attempts.
